How do I comment on a Blog?

How to comment on a blog post:

1

At the bottom of each post, you will see that it says ‘Leave a Reply’

If you would like to comment, click inside the box that says ‘Enter your comment here…’

The page will then expand to look like this:

2

After you have written your comment, enter your SCHOOL EMAIL address in the box provided (don’t worry, only Mr. Edd will be able to see your email address)

You must also write something in the ‘Name’box. This does not need to be your real name, but it should be something sensible. Alternatively, you can type ‘Anon’ which means anonymous.

You should leave the Website box empty.

Once you have written your comment and have filled in the two relevant boxes, you can press ‘POST COMMENT’.

You will then see a message that looks like this:

3

When it says ‘Your comment is awaiting moderation,’ that means Mr. Edd has not read it yet. Only when he reads and approves it will it appear on the blog for everyone to see.

People can press the blue star to show they ‘like’ your comment or they can send a reply if Mr. Edd approves it.

Happy Commenting!

Commenting Guide!

Hi everyone,

Here are the notes we made and discussed in class today about how to give quality comments on the blog. Please try to use this guide when commenting:

1. Make a point e.g. I liked the song

2. Explain your opinion e.g. because the video was lovely and the song was catchy.

3. Add some new information or something that you have learnede.g. it’s interesting that so many people think that coral just rocks

4. Ask a question to other learners e.g. Where is the best place to go snorkeling around Mahe? My favourite is at Baie Ternay!

Your whole comment might look like this:

I liked the song because the video was lovely and the song was catchy. It’s interesting that so many people think that coral is just rocks. Where is the best place to go snorkeling around Mahe? My favourite is at Baie Ternay!

Another learner might respond:

I love snorkelling by my house in Glacis because I always see turtles there! Did you know that baby turtles are going to be hatching on our beaches soon! Who would LOVE to see that?

I hope this helps!
